Cuba

Cuba is an archipelago of islands located in the northern Caribbean Sea at the at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico. For Europeans, the country was discoverd by Christopher Columbus in 1492. It's extremyly picturesque country, with over 300 natural beaches, three mountain ranges, vast regions of savannas and numerous, fertile valleys, with tobacco and sugarcane cultivations. The notion "Cuba" is reminiscent of sun-bathed beaches of white sand, crystal blue sea, fine cigars, smoked by dignified and mature women and delicious rum. Many people associate Cuba with music - hot rhythms of salsa, mambo, rumba and cha-cha-cha, played in the clubs, streets and courtyards. It is the music that best expresses the spirit of Afro-Cuban culture and the zest for life of Cuban people. Cuban music of all styles has been enjoyed and praised widely across the world. The Cuban joy of life even failed to extinguish the socialist dictatorship of Fidel Castro.
