English as a Foreign Language at South Chelsea College
South Chelsea College offers high-quality English courses at all levels from Beginner to Advanced and Proficiency. The emphasis is on encouraging students to speak fluently as well as enabling them to achieve good levels of comprehension, writing and grammar.
A variety of teaching techniques are used - students will work in pairs, in small groups and on a whole-class basis. The average class size is 10-15 pupils and we are delighted to have students from a wide range of different countries.
English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses prepare students for all levels of the University of Cambridge EFL examinations, and the College is a centre for KET and PET examinations. South Chelsea College belongs to the Association of British Language Schools (ABLS). ABLS is recognised by the Home Office as one of the three main bodies accrediting courses at private education institutions along with the British Council and the BAC.
The College is modern and well equipped, and where appropriate a range of language learning software is available in our extensive Computer Department.
The English as a Foreign Language Department at SCC is small enough to ensure care for the individual student but large enough to attract qualified and experienced teaching staff. Students are tested on arrival at the College to ensure they are placed in the most suitable class.
Situated in one of London's most diverse and cosmopolitan areas, with a lively entertainment scene, excellent sports facilities nearby, and a colourful street market. The College is directly opposite an Underground station (Victoria Line) and only ten minutes away by tube from the West End (Oxford Circus).

Summer courses
SCC offers two-, three-, or four-week courses during the summer. These classes take place for three hours per day and concentrate on conversational English. Students have the option of enrolling in computer-aided learning classes in the afternoon. Most of our students are adults, but summer classes can be arranged for young people under 17 (minimum of ten per group). SCC offers a warm and friendly environment. We encourage students to practise their English outside the classroom, and our location places all the tourist attractions of central London within easy reach.
Students will find a summer course at SCC an excellent learning experience and a good introduction to English life. Theatre and museum visits can be arranged and staff are keen to make sure students get the most out of their stay.
