 Berlin leaves no-one indifferent. This interface between East and West is bubbling with new ideas, constructive discussions and revolutionary debates. The new Berlin presents itself as an open, amusing, lively and varied city to residents and visitors alike. DIE NEUE SCHULE, founded in 1984, is one of the biggest and best-known language schools in Berlin. We are situated in the very city centre, in a quiet residential area near two underground stations and on several bus routes. A comfortable walk takes you to Kurfürstendamm and its side streets, where numerous cafes, galleries and flamboyant boutiques are to be found. There is a direct public transport link to Potsdamer Platz, Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichstrasse.
We offer German classes in small groups and at 12 different levels all over the year. For students with previous knowledge of German there is an evaluation test at the beginning of every course. At the end of the course each student receives a leaving certificate. Recognized examinations (B1, B2, C1, C 2) may also be taken, in which case the grade achieved is included in the final certificate. There are special DSH and TestDaF-preparation courses as well.
 Bright classrooms, a large library right beside the school, a cafeteria of our own, self-study rooms, a video room and internet access for students help to create a good learning atmosphere.
The atmosphere in the school is international, friendly, open and very personal.
The method of teaching is communicative and based on the simple premise that language comes from speaking. Role-play and intensive conversation training are therefore an integral part of every course. All staff have university degrees as well as extensive experience in individual and group teaching.
Berlin offers an incredible choice of opportunities to spend your free time the way you like. You will get together with many students from all over the world during social activities during the week and well-organized weekend excursions to places outside Berlin.
 A carefully selected host family can be the ideal complement to the language course. DIE NEUE SCHULE gladly arranges both for accommodation in guest families and for private single rooms and apartments. All types of accommodation can be reached between 5 and 30 minutes from school.
We recommend early registration either at our website www.neueschule.de, in a travel agency in your home country or at our Berlin office. Each registration will be confirmed in writing within 24 hours. At the latest when you register you should take part in a placement test, on the results of which the appropriate class will be chosen.
