The services: Throughout the year German, English, and other language courses; intensive courses, exam preparation, tailor-made courses, internships, recognised test centre for TestDaF, DSH, TOEFL (and more), a wide variety of accommodation possibilities and a rich social programme. The school lies in the centre of Heidelberg and has 48 multimedia-equipped classrooms (up to 75 in summer), 3 Internet rooms and a library.

    The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide. GI sets internationally recognised standards in the teaching and learning of German as a foreign language. It runs language courses, compiles teaching materials, trains teachers, contributes to scientific research and participates in politicolanguage initiatives. The Research and Development unit at the head office in Munich collates teaching, exam and training material for German as a foreign and second language.

    The Goethe-Zertifikat B1: Zertifikat Deutsch was developed jointly by the Goethe-Institut (GI), the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (Konferenz der Kantonalen Erziehungsdirektoren, EDK) represented by the University of Freiburg, the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch (ÖSD) and telc GmbH. ZD proves that you have a sound basic knowledge of everyday German and that you have the language skills required for dealing with all kinds of different situations encountered every day. The examination corresponds to level three (B1) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

    ZDfB is business-oriented language qualification that corresponds to level four (B2) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and calls for an independent command of the language. ZDfB was developed jointly by the Goethe-Institut and telc GmbH.

    LCCI International Qualifications from EDI are among the best recognised and most highly regarded business-related qualifications in the world. The qualifications include vocationally-related qualifications that cover the key areas of business, as well as language and teaching qualifications. LCCI English Language qualifications are aligned to the Common European Framework (CEF) and used worldwide by employers and universities as evidence of language proficiency.

    Tthe testDaF is a language test for foreign learners of German who plan to study in Germany or who require recognised cerification of their German language skills. The testDaF examination is developed and rated by TestDaF Institute, based in Hagen, Germany. The test can be taken at licensed centres in about 80 different countries. TestDaF is set at Level B2 and Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

    telc stands for The European Language Certificates. Telc language examinations are developed and administered by the WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH with headquarter in Frankfurt am Main, in cooperation with other European institutions: Goethe Institute, Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK), the the Austrian Language Diploma (ÖSD) and numerous universities throughout Europe. telc examinations are geared to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and have been developed to serve the needs and interests of a wide variety of individuals, groups and organisations.
