    The European Language Certificates (telc)

    telc stands for The European Language Certificates. Telc language examinations are developed and administered by the WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH with headquarter in Frankfurt am Main, in cooperation with other European institutions: Goethe Institute, Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK), the the Austrian Language Diploma (ÖSD) and numerous universities throughout Europe. telc examinations are geared to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and have been developed to serve the needs and interests of a wide variety of individuals, groups and organisations.

    telc Deutsch exams test general German language competence at levels A1 - C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Telc Deutsch für den Beruf exams tests business German competence at levels A2 – B2 of CEFR. Telc Deutsh can be taken by anyone. For school pupils, aged about 14 to 17 telc Deutsch Schule exams are provided. Some of the telc Deutsh examinations were developed jointly in co-operation between the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK), the Goethe-Institut, the Austrian Language Diploma and telc GmbH.
